What is the Future Echo's TC? It is a Total Conversion for Dungeon Siege that I will be working on loosely based on the Shadow Run and BattleTECH universe. The Future Echo's TC will only be similar to the FASA ShadowRun and BattleTECH game in concept (loosely). This being that magic and mythical creatures have returned to the earth in the year 2223 at the height of Mans 3 World war fought with Mechs. The day that a huge flying dragon ridden by an elder elf showed up on the battle field was the keystone that pulled mankind back from the brink. All of the countries of the world has split into factions. All manner of Man and beast roam the countryside and darkness has fallen upon the world again. This will be based on team play (min 2-6 players on each team). Players will try and complete runs while Corporate Strike Teams and other baddies will try and stop them. Sort of like squad game play that the Counter Strike mod for half-life has. The current maps include a Megacity, A moon base, a space station, A drop ship (that will be your home base), A capital ship, an asteroid base and the Navaho wild lands (High desert wilderness and snow covered Mountains to explore) Some of the runs include Bodyguard, Steal the file from a Corp, steal the data from the corp.'s net, Clear out the Ghouls, Steal the prototype vehicle (yes these include mechs), Find and retrieve the object. A lot of these will require absolute teamwork. For instance to F&R the downed Fighter Engine Prototype in the Navaho wilderness you will have to have some of your team fly in but there will be no place to land so the pilot will then have to fly back and get a truck to carry the engine. The rest of the team will have to use a gurney to carry the engine to the truck. Of course the residents of the wilderness will not appreciate you being there so the longer you stay the more likely you will be swarmed. There will be different classes for the players and each class will have specific weapons, equipment and abilities. This is about as similar as it will get to the ShadowRunner/BattleTECH worlds. Deckers will be able to hack into the security systems and gain access to the security cameras, find files on systems and bypass maglocks. A team will not be able to get into most buildings without a decker to open the doors. Of course the deckers will not be able use the better weapons. Pilots will fly and drive the vehicles. Warriors will be able to use the better weapons. Mages will have the strongest magic. Multi class is possible and even necessary if you want to play as a mercenary but skill mastery will only be possible in one class. Some items will be limited to class masters only. This project will be done in my spare time so it will not move quickly but it will move steadily. I will post more information as I go along as well as images of the models and current state in the project.
